The City of Goodyear Police Department's Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) will be implementing a free program called YANA for its senior residents. The program will promote peace of mind and a sense of security for the elderly individual who may also be disabled and enjoy the independence of living alone, but have no friends or family members available to check on them with any consistency. VIPS will be making regular telephone calls and home visitations. If an emergency arises during the course of a phone call or home visit, the VIPS will contact Communications who will dispatch a Goodyear Police Officer to the residence.
